AFDE and its partner companies recognize the value of education and support continuing education for our employees. By also supporting children’s education, we are helping to lay a foundation for them to explore unlimited opportunities in the future.
On September 1st, the McLeod Lake Indian Band, a Treaty 8 First Nation, held a Back-to-School event in their community. For the 3rd year in a row, AFDE sponsored the event – this year by donating school supplies AND backpacks for each school-aged child who lives on-reserve.
Project Administrator Jennie Gagnon secured the AFDE backpacks, and then went shopping for supplies: binders, paper, pencils, scissors, crayons, etc. – whatever was needed for each grade level. She then filled each backpack with the school supplies…and just a little bit of love.
AFDE wishes everyone a successful school year!
